This policy explains how Home Network Experts ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our website, contact us or use our services, and how we use cookies and similar technologies — including for advertising and analytics. We are committed to handling your data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Home Network Experts provides WiFi, networking and smart home installation services across mainland UK. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the data controller of the personal information described in this policy.
Contact us about this policy or your data at: 07900 731 733
We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR: contract (to provide services you've requested), consent (for marketing communications and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time), legitimate interests (to run and improve our business, respond to enquiries and prevent fraud) and legal obligation (where we must retain or share information by law).
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with: our engineers and staff who need it to deliver your service; trusted service providers who help us run our business (such as our website host, form and booking tools, and payment providers); advertising and analytics partners as described in section 6; and authorities where required by law. All providers are required to protect your data appropriately.
Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and tags) for the purposes below. When you first visit our site, you can choose which non-essential cookies to accept via our cookie banner, and you can change your choices at any time.
Required for the website to function — for example, remembering your cookie preferences and enabling our forms and coverage checker to work. These cannot be switched off.
We use analytics services such as Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site — which pages are popular, how people find us and where we can improve. This data is aggregated and does not directly identify you. Google may process this data on servers outside the UK; Google's own privacy policy applies to its processing.
We advertise our services on platforms including Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram). With your consent, these platforms set cookies and use pixels (such as the Meta Pixel and Google Ads conversion and remarketing tags) on our site to:
These platforms act as separate data controllers for some of this processing, and their own privacy policies apply: Google Privacy Policy and Meta Privacy Policy.
Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of our website work.
We keep enquiry and quote information for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and customer records for as long as necessary to provide our services, honour warranties and meet legal and accounting requirements (typically up to 6 years). Analytics and advertising data is retained according to the settings of the relevant platform, which we keep to the minimum practical.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access a copy of your personal data; ask us to correct inaccurate data; ask us to delete your data; restrict or object to our processing (including direct marketing, which we will always stop on request); data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time where consent is our lawful basis. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@homenetworkexperts.co.uk — we will respond within one month.
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including secure hosting, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls limiting who can view your data.
Our website may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites — please check their policies before providing personal information.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
